There was a raccoon on the side of the road
I drove to work one day
He was sleepin' there as as can be
So I blew my horn to him up and get
him out of the way
But little raccoon paid no attention to me
Well the day on my way to work,
to my surprise
That little raccoon was in the same spot
So I blew my again but he didn't
pay me no
And I thought to "boy he sure sleeps a lot"
On the day I drove by and he was
there again
But I noticed that little raccoon had
a lot
He was lying in the sun with a funny little
He must be pretty well I thought
On the fourth day I drove by but that
'coon didn't look
He was the of a little piggy, and
his skin looked kind of
There was awful smell, it was
enough to curl hair
And I wondered how he could sleepin' with
that stench the air
On the fifth day I by and again

That little raccoon was there all
covered up with
I stopped my car and I out,
"wake up you sleepyhead!"
And then it hit me - he wasn't at all
poor little bugger was dead
Poor little raccoon I guess had it
Now he's a nursery for 10,000 maggots
little raccoon pushin' up daisies
And all this I thought he was just lazy.
