Outside Out

You walked in my house, you dialed my phone
just to call me up. i said, "I'm not at home."
you were standing alone, so you put me down
you locked the door, and then you looked around
you shook a jar, you opened a drawer
looking for something i had said before
and you almost gave up til' you found a part
that came from the bottom of my broken heart.

Whats this all about?
I just call it outside out
I've been rolling on the wheel of doubt
I've been seeing myself from the outside out.

And as soon as i heard the click on the line
I dropped my arm, and then i froze in time.
A minute went by, though it could have been years
Til i found this out, while i trembled in fear.
A step, to a walk, to a run to my car,
I was cutting and zooming like a shooting star.
Til i had stopped it short, right outside my door
but i found i was locked from my inner most core.

Well i sat in my car with my hands on the wheel.
I was shaking hard til i loosened the steel.
With one big pull with my wheel in hand,
I stepped back out to the promised land.
With you on the inside, me on the out
i smashed all the windows and started to shout,
"Hey you in there, dont feel bad,
but I'm coming to get what i already had.

What's this all about?
Its outside out
I can tell you without a doubt.
