The old don't talk much
They talk so when they do
are rich, they are poor
Their are gone, they share one heart for two

Their homes all smell of time of old
And an old song
Though you may live in
You live so far away when lived too long

they laughed too much
Do their dry voices
Talking of things by
Have they too much

A tear or two always seems to cloud the eye
tremble as they watch
The old clock
day is through

Tick tock, so, so
It 'Yes', it says 'No'
It says, "I for you"

The old folks dream no
Their books have gone to
The piano's out of tune, the cat is dead
And no more do they on a Sunday afternoon

The old folks no more
world become too small
Their bodies feel like
They look out a window

Or sit it a chair
Or else they in bed
And if they go out
Arm in arm, arm in arm

In the morning chill, it's to a good cry
To say their last to one who's older still
And they go home to the old silver clock
When day is

Tick tock, so, so
It says 'Yes', it 'No'
It says, "I for you"

The old never die
They just put their heads and go to sleep one day
They will hold each others
Like children in the dark but one will get lost

And the will remain
Just in a room which makes no sound
It doesn't now
The song has away and echo's all around

You'll see them as walk
the sun filled parks
Where run and play
It to much to smile

It hurts so
But life on for still another day
As they try to the old silver clock
When day is

Tick tock, so, so
It says 'Yes', it says
It says, "I for you"

The old old clock
hanging on the wall
waits for us all
