So they opened up his
And they saw gave their hearts a pull
Beside each debtor's old Doc
Had these words, "Paid in full"

Old Doc had
A funeral fine enough for a
It's a ghastly joke our town was
And no one could a thing

Jones an undertaker
He did well
an old iron casket
He had never been to sell

And the procession
It wasn't much for grace and and the style
But those loads of mourners
They stretched out for than a mile

We figured we owed him one
'Cause he made our town a better
For all the good done

Where Doc had a sign
painted it white and to all of us
It certainly did fine

Have washed away our white trimmin's of
There ain't nothin' but Doc's own sign
And that's pretty faint
