Metropolis

I was born in a metropolis
but it soon all burned to the ground
there were ashes burning at my feet
and a bible held in my hand

But however hard i tried i couldn't laugh
felt like the sky had fallen down on me at last

So i left to find another life, but it always felt so alone
even though the time i spent was wise, i would never have felt at home
