In that little church in that Lou'siana swamp
There must have been a hundred people doing the Stomp.

There was shrimps, there was crabs, was red beans and rice
I was as sure as I could be that I was in
They was cookin' and Crawfish Etouffe
somebody screamed, "Laissez les bontemps roulez!"
I I'd died and gone to heaven in that Lou'siana swamp
So I up on my feet and did The Lou'siana Stomp

I woke up in the underneath a 'simmon tree
The whole place was deserted, wasn't no one but me
I help but wonder if it all had been a dream
'Cause you know down on the Bayou, things always like they seem
But in my was a note, said "Come back anytime you want, 'cause every Friday night we do The Lou'siana Stomp!"
