Lost

I was lost down here in this world
wonder what my life would be unfurled
I was lost as you waited for me to come
I was lost

I was looking for the one Who would always stand by me
When my heart was full of doubt about my incapacities
And I was always holding on to those who always seemed to leave
Me lost

And I was covered with the thought that I was all alone
As you looked at me and thought if only you had known
That I've been watching from above looking down in love
And I would never give you more than what would make your heart feel sore

Now as I walk on the path you've paved for me
I take a look around myself and suddenly I see
That you've been walking there beside me
Like a map you led me when I was lost

But I'm not lost as I look at you and see
You on the cross suffering silently
As I wandered and sinned and you kept trying to mend
My future with you by the son that you sent
and after all this time I can finally say

But I'm not lost because you went and took
The burdened cross as I watched you pay the cost
