Lion's Head

Darling it came back to me slowly
While I was working in the morning rain
Thinking about how the full moon last night
Danced between my window pane

It was over two years ago now
We made our way to the lions head
By this moonlight we climbed that mountain
With a couple blankets we would spread

It was there we moved the pebbles
Gathered up some bigger stones
Stacked them one foot high to block the wind
From entering in our new home

To the east, the Mother City
To the west, the brisk blue sea
To the south, table mountain looked north
At an islands history
