Theyd wonder where their lay

In vain, for years, though one was
And one was not, for far too

And feathers burnt and and cold

The stronger of the two see
A bird, how weak was he
In near but knowing not,
Just who he was, or why, or

The talons tore at flesh
And stripped away that feathered
And all a sound or cry,
Or even knowing why

Yet as the sun to sink
He seemed to sense, he to think
That soon his might appear
From close, from somewhere near
Convinced this was his fate,
his corpse, he sat to wait
