We had this plan to meet and run away together

I found this letter and this is it said

If you get there before I do, don't up on me

I read those words just hours before my passed away
In the of a church where me and grandpa stopped to pray
I know Id never seen him cry in all my 15
But as he said these words to her, his eyes filled up tears

If you get before I do, don't give up on me
Ill meet you my chores are through
I dont know how long Ill be but Im not gonna let you
Darling, and see

And between now and then til I see you
Ill be loving you, me
