If It Never Means A Thing

Where do I go now this time has fallen through?
How do I begin to begin again?
Leave my family, leave my friends,
Leave the way to a means to an end.

I have to make another start,
I'll have to play another part,
But not to worry, no need to stress,
All I can be is to be my best.

Where life takes me is where I want to go,
Wear my face like the seasons have to show,
Summer has me dancing as the sun shines down,
Winter brings me longing for a better place to frown.

And now it's over in this tin and concrete city,
Pack my bags and move on towards the day,
