Highway Eleven

Just s countryside story full of sunshine and glory
Won't you come for a visit take the old Wakefield Train
Smile at a stranger go visit a Neighbor
And love everybody 'cause they all love you

Oh! It's not like it once was the big timber's all gone
They're cutting up north now in Maniwaki
The people live high by the streams and the rivers
Praying to Jesus to help fill their needs(ref)

There's just one train weekly with the freight for the township
The city museum has a steamer trip too
The ten fifty-seven is out of retirement
Reliving the old days the way the old timers do (ref)

Now old highway eleven is rough and uneven
It whines through the valley that the river runs through
The people live happy in their home built log shanties
And wonder why city folks live like they do (ref)

And if you love everybody chances are that somebody
