When I was a bitty boy just up off the floor
We used to go to grandma's house every month end or so
have chicken pie, country ham
Homemade on the bread
But the best darn thing about house
Was the big feather bed

Took a whole of cloth for the tick

It could hold eight kids and hound dogs
And a piggy we stole the shed
We didn't get sleep but we had a lot of fun

After supper we'd sit the fire, the old folks'd spit and chew

And I'd sit and listen and watch the fire the cobwebs filled my head
Next thing I'd know I'd up in the morning
