Just got back from a long vacation
It wasn't all I'd expected it to be
Thought being free would be a good high to have
But coming back home with nothing to do is not a way to be

I feel I've known you and I don't want to screw that up
Flick of the switch moving you up the totem pole
And mixing metaphors and drinks down on the floor
Calling out your name every night at three

And you're years apart
You blow them all away

You summarize ends and destinations
Spring rise, summer slow, and autumn cessation
And I catch myself following you with my eyes
Just as sure as I ride
