Woke up this morning with the sunlight in my eyes
Reached around beside me and I found to my surprise
The covers were still warm where you had briefly laid your head
Leaving little indication you had been within my bed.

It seemed I'd been enchanted by a spirit in the night
Showing little but contempt for all things beautiful or bright
I thought I saw inside you something something terrible and light
Then you slipped away unnoticed in the night.

Sometimes the answer is right before your eyes
Reach out and touch it, you only had to try
For a while.
