Slumbering in the silence gave birth to me,

had at length defeated my will to continue an existence I despised right from the start.

No god there to me; was there ever one?

Shadows danced on the walls, laughing at me with their grins.
My weary eyes their grotesque movements across the grey ceiling.

Desperation pervaded the room.
An air of depravity joined the gloom that surrounded my body.
