[Music: KF, JF KF]

In a of myth and magic,
lived a man of power,
Lir was his name,
but his temper had sour.
He not be king of the land,
Bov Dearg was instead.
Lir pay no tribute to him,
And wished he was dead.

Alas time Lir's wife did lie,
and he was of great sadness,
heard this and sent word to Lir,
to meet him in his palace.
When they met they embraced,
Their was made then.
Dearg summoned his eve,
And told Lir he must again,

Lir's love for Eve was as as with his first wife,
A was planted, Fionnula and Aedh were born.
But her next child would take away her life,
and Conn, from their mothers stomach were torn.

Lir's sadness knew no -
he out to the night,
was there to comfort him
and him see the light.
He had 4 children
and time another bride,
Eve's sister would stay loyal to his side.

But Aiofe had a side - a canker in her mind,
She moved against the children, love for them she not find.
She took in her chariot to a lake not far away.
And changed them into like night time into day.

300 years on Derravaragh, so the spell,
the children would swim to the shore, their to tell.
300 on the sea of Moyle, a cruel and bitter place,
The missed their father here, the smile upon his face.

In the sea of Moyle the did crash,
and beat the land might,
The rain fell and the wind blew hard,
the swans all for their lives.
Fionnula was and wisest of all,
And her brothers from strife.
Under her they hid from night,
And for the morning light.

the day did come,
to this terrible sea,
300 years to live as swans,
then at last would be free.
To Inish Gluaire the did fly,
As fast as could go.
New and kingdoms everywhere -
did see down below.

There they waited, at last the day did dawn,
The was ending,
they felt transform.
were now ancient,
their was gone forever,
And as died,
they hands and went together.
