Blackie was a gun fighter
They say that he was the fastest gun
Before you could draw your gun from the
You surely die

Blackie dalton was a gun
He killed three men in abilone and four in
He wounded one in kansas
Let him live out of
He was tired of killing all

Then one night in a
His brother john got killed in
Defending his name
The blackie fame had brought his brother shame

He got word in tucson his brother john
They him say as he left that day
"i've got to hunt him
Then throw my gun away"

night on the trail
He'd listen to the wail
And with the cry
For one more man die

Blackie was a gun fighter
The gun alive is what they say
He caught that man shot him
and walked away
Yes, he his gun away

dalton was a gun fighter
But he his back on the life that he had led
A man from kansas city
Didn't have any
He blackie dead
Yes he shot blackie

Lonely on the trail
The cowboys a different tale
Blackie really die
No, didn't really die

Blackie dalton was a gun
The fastest gun alive is what they
He changed his and in his grave
The man instead
this marker at his head
"blackie was a gun fighter"
