Sirens ring out across the New York City night
Lights blaze up and light up the city sky bright
And there's people screaming out
"we're all going to die", "we're all going to hell"

Bridge leans out across water no-one can swim in
Man cries out "there's nothing in this world for him"
Well the river welcomes all around here, around here

Alexander & Annabel, all around them little hearts
Never breaking away, maybe fading slowly, but never far apart
Alexander loves Annabel, it says so right here
On a bench in the dark, in the corner of the park
Every New York City evening

The next day I return to the usual spot
To my dismay, it's cons in community day
